Thank you for your interest in AWARE! We are looking for Wisconsin focused animal rescues, humane societies and sanctuaries to become a part of our growing community. The more support for Wisconsin’s animals in need the better.
To become a member of AWARE, the applying humane society, rescue or sanctuary must be actively supporting animals in need in the State of Wisconsin.
Additionally, AWARE has membership standards. We make a commitment to the public that our members will adhere to the following standards:
- All AWARE members animals must be spayed/neutered according to veterinary recommendations. S/N contracts are accepted. Members who do not comply, will be removed from the list.
- All AWARE members will accept their animals back at any time after adoption. A reasonable amount of time will be allotted to allow for transport and identification of foster family. This information will need to be stated in the group adoption documents. Groups may also allow owners to directly rehome the animal.
- All AWARE members must have an active relationship with a Wisconsin shelter or animal control.
- All AWARE members must be operating according to Wisconsin and local laws, including being licensed.
- All AWARE members are welcome to have 5 individuals from the organization to participate.
